Gyanbhumi Secondary School Celebrates 65th Anniversary
Pokhara, Magh 9, 2082 — Gyanbhumi Secondary School, located in Nadipur, Pokhara–3, celebrated its 65th anniversary, Parents’ Day, and prize distribution ceremony on Friday.
The ceremony was inaugurated by Pokhara–3 Ward Chairperson Prakashman Udas as the chief guest. While inaugurating the event, he expressed commitment that the ward would provide maximum possible support for the school’s development.
Annual Report and Speakers at the Program
The program was held under the chairpersonship of School Management Committee Chairperson Padamraj Shrestha. Principal Binodraj Subedi presented the school’s annual report.
On the occasion, remarks were delivered by former Constituent Assembly member Krishnakumari Pariyar, Dr. Basanta Tamrakar, member of the Pokhara Metropolitan Education Committee Basantaraj Pandey, former School Management Committee chairperson Dhruv KC, former teacher Kamala KC, Uttam Sherchan representing endowment fund donors, former ward member Laxmi Parajuli, Dilliram Rajbhandari, and Teacher-Parent Association chairperson Jyoti Sunar, among others.
Science Exhibition and Annual Prize Distribution
Students presented a science exhibition during the event, which was facilitated by teacher Omraj Thapa. The school also distributed annual prizes to students.
Endowment Funds and Cash Awards
On the same occasion, Kanyamarg Tole Development Organization established an endowment fund worth Rs 21,000 for the school. Similarly, Sangita Kunwar established an endowment fund worth Rs 25,505.
Former School Management Committee chairperson Prem Sherchan awarded students who secured first, second, and third positions from the school in the SEE with cash prizes of:

First position — Rs 4,000

Second position — Rs 3,000

Third position — Rs 2,000
Former Constituent Assembly member Krishnakumari Pariyar provided Rs 5,000 to the school to encourage students.
Ramjan KC provided class-wise awards to students securing first, second, and third positions in Grade 8, as follows:

First — Rs 1,000

Second — Rs 700
-
Third — Rs 500
Scholarships were also provided to poor, hardworking, and outstanding students through other endowment fund donors established in the school.
Welcome Remarks, Program, and Cultural Performances
Former Principal Govindraj Paudel delivered the welcome remarks. The event was conducted by Assistant Principal Purushottam Sapkota.
During the ceremony, students entertained attendees by presenting various cultural programs.
Current Student and Staff Numbers
At present, around 200 students are studying at the school. A total of 18 individuals, including teachers and staff, are currently working there.
