Kathmandu University's Department of Language and Mass Communication is set to host a notable event, the International Symposium on 'Two Decades of Generalized Communication - Framework'. This significant meeting will take place on May 26, 2024, at the University's School of Arts Campus in Hattiban, Lalitpur.

Distinguished Guests and Speakers

The symposium will feature Prof. KK Aggarwal, Vice-Chancellor of South Asian University in New Delhi, as the Chief Guest. Additionally, Professor Yoshitaka Mike from the University of Hawaii at Hilo will serve as the main speaker. The event will commence under the leadership of KU's own Vice Chancellor, Professor Bhola Thapa.

Contributing Speakers

The conference will also include insights from Professor BK Kuthiala, former vice-chancellor of Makhanlal Chaturvedi University, and Professor K.G. Suresh, the current vice-chancellor there. Other notable participants include Han Hong, Vice President of the School of Politics and Public Administration at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and Ida Bagus Putu Suamba from the Polytechnic Negeri in Bali, Indonesia.

The symposium celebrates the 20th anniversary of the 'Simplification Framework of Communication' developed by Dr. Nirmalamani Adhikari in 2003.
