Lumbini Buddhist University Faculty of Buddhist Studies Call for Papers - PhD Scholars Seminar 2026
Lumbini Buddhist University (LBU) invites PhD scholars of the Faculty of Buddhist Studies to submit papers for the PhD Scholars Seminar 2026.
The seminar is intended to provide an academic platform for the presentation and critical discussion of doctoral research. It aims to support the refinement of research arguments, the strengthening of research methodologies, the enhancement of scholarly writing, and the promotion of academic exchange. Participants will present research papers related to their dissertation topics, followed by structured interactive sessions for scholarly feedback.

Paper Format
Submissions must adhere to Lumbini Buddhist University’s prescribed formatting guidelines.
Topic Selection and Publication

Participation is restricted to PhD scholars of Lumbini Buddhist University.

Submitted papers may be directly related to the author’s dissertation research or may address relevant independent themes within the field of Buddhist Studies.

Selected papers will be considered for publication in the Lumbini Buddhist University Journal.
International Participation
International participants may attend the seminar in person or present their papers online.

Title: Abstract
Guidelines: The abstract should be concise (max. 250 words), clear, and descriptive, summarizing the key aspects of the paper.
Title: Keywords
Guidelines: Include at least five keywords. (Font: Times New Roman, Size: 11, Bold)
Title: Introduction
Guidelines: Provide a brief background and context for the topic. Clearly state the purpose and objectives of the paper.
Title: Literature Review
Guidelines: Summarize and analyze existing research related to the topic. Highlight key findings, gaps, and relevance to your study.
Title: Statement of the Problems
Guidelines: Define the specific issue or challenge the research addresses. Be precise and clear in identifying the problem.
Title: Objectives
Guidelines: State the specific objectives of the paper, including the purpose of presenting information, developing an argument, and engaging the reader.
Title: Methodology
Guidelines: Describe the systematic approach used for conducting the research, including techniques, procedures, and rules followed to generate and analyze data.
Title: Delimitation
Guidelines: Identify the boundaries and scope of the research to narrow down the focus of the study.
Title: Textual Study (Analysis/Discussion/Interpretation)
Guidelines: Interpret and critically examine the findings, connecting them to existing literature and addressing the implications of the results.
Title: Conclusion
Guidelines: Summarize the key points of the research paper based on the analysis, discussion and findings.
Title: Works Cited/References
Guidelines: Researchers should follow the latest version of either MLA or APA style of citation and should use the same consistently throughout the article.
Title: Appendix
Guidelines: Survey questionnaires and data should be tabulated, and pictures must be credited to their rightful owners.
Manuscript Requirements

The paper should be between 3,000 - 3,500 words, including works cited.

It should contain appropriate subheadings to clearly delineate the different sections.

The manuscript should use Times New Roman (12 pt.) for English and Preeti (16 pt.) or Kokila (16 pt.) for Nepali with justified alignment and 1.5 line spacing within each section.
Evaluation Criteria
Evaluation Criteria: Submissions will be evaluated based on clarity, originality, accuracy, meaningful comparison, and contribution to research. Each paper will undergo internal and external review by the evaluation committee members. Selected papers will be Published.

Language: Nepali or English
Margins
Margins: 1 inch on the top, bottom, and right; 1.5 inches on the left.
Figures
Figures: Include black-and-white images (e.g., photographs, illustrations, graphs, flowcharts) with no shading or gray tones.
