NATHM Invites Applications for Liaison Officer Orientation Training
Kathmandu. The Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM), Rabibhawan, under the Government of Nepal’s Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, has invited applications for pre-deployment orientation training for liaison officers assigned to accompany mountaineering expeditions. The Academy issued a notice on Shrawan 19, 2083, inviting interested and eligible candidates to apply for the training.
The training will be conducted under the Academy’s approved annual programme for the fiscal year 2083/84. It will take place at the Academy from Bhadra 1 to Bhadra 7, 2083, beginning at 7:00 a.m. each day.
Interested candidates must complete and submit the application form to the Academy by Shrawan 26, 2083. The training fee has been set at Rs. 7,500 (seven thousand five hundred rupees).
The notice states that applicants must submit the application together with the deposit voucher for the fee paid at the extension counter of Citizens Bank International Limited located within the Academy’s premises.
Who Is Eligible to Participate?
Under Rule 8, Sub-rule (1) of the Mountaineering Expedition Regulations, 2059, individuals meeting any of the following qualifications may participate in the training:

Civil service employees holding the position of Non-Gazetted First Class or above.

Officers of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police or Armed Police Force holding a position equivalent to a Gazetted Third Class officer in the civil service.

Individuals who have successfully climbed Mount Everest.
Required Documents
The training application form may be downloaded from the Academy’s website, www.nathm.gov.np, or obtained directly from the Academy.
Applicants must submit certified copies of the relevant qualification certificates and a departmental recommendation together with the following documents:

A copy of the Nepali citizenship certificate.

Two passport-size photographs.

Copies of the certificate for a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification, including the transcript and character certificate.

A recommendation letter from the relevant ministry, department or employing organisation.

For Nepali climbers who have successfully climbed Mount Everest, a copy of the certificate issued by the Department of Tourism and a copy of the certificate confirming that they passed the School Leaving Certificate or Secondary Education Examination (SLC/SEE).

For civil service employees who were appointed to the civil service and subsequently adjusted to the provincial or local level, a copy of the employee adjustment letter.
