Themes, Perspective, and Poetic Approach
Although the poems in the collection present mainly the poet’s personal viewpoints and reflections on various individuals and subject matters, they also carry social and literary significance.
As far as possible, the poet has followed the rules of metre in the poems. Alongside this, there is an effort to use simile, imagery, and symbols wherever appropriate. Nearly a dozen different classical metres (vrtta) have been used in poems with diverse titles. Some prose poems and a few songs are also included within the collection.
Social Concerns and Vision of Change
The collection attempts to convey many ideas in a concise form. It shows that in order to build a Nepal free from hunger, disease, and injustice, and to create a prosperous country with good governance, not only new thoughts, emotions, energy, and strength are necessary, but also new characters, new tendencies, and new perspectives.
The poetry seeks to give poetic expression, through various images and symbols, to many of the issues raised by the Jenji Movement.
Range of Subjects and Literary Tributes
Several poems included in the collection focus on the description of nature. Some poems are written about religious and cultural festivals. Other poems are composed as reminiscences of eminent literary figures and socially committed personalities.
The poems speak about the distortions and anomalies of the present time in a poetic manner and attempt to weave the dream of a bright future in a beautiful way.
