US Embassy Holds Creators Mela 2026 in Kathmandu

Kathmandu: The U.S. Embassy in Nepal has organized Creators Fair 2026 with the aim of linking digital creation among the general public with creative and economic income.

With the slogan “Vision to Venture,” the Creators Fair that began in Chitwan has been running in Kathmandu since Friday. After active runs in Chitwan and Nepalgunj, the embassy said it has organized a two-day event in Kathmandu through Saturday for those interested in digital creation.

The embassy’s Public Affairs Chief, Mike Harker, said the fair is expected to support the development of Nepal’s creative economy. He said the fair is not limited to digital content creation alone, but also seeks to connect it with livelihoods and to focus on building sustainable, professional businesses.

The fair is hosting session-based discussions on how content can be created in a way that allows economic benefit from mobile phone use, and how it can be used for business development. Practical workshops, live presentations, and the main “Pitch to Success” program are being conducted as part of these sessions. Participants in the discussions said the fair could help guide the younger generation’s growing digital interest in a constructive direction.

The main attraction of the Kathmandu program is “Pitch to Success,” where selected creators are presenting their business concepts before leaders of Nepal’s leading business houses, aiming to create an environment for future development and investment.

Organizers have claimed that the “Vision to Venture” slogan reduces the gap between digital storytelling and business enterprise. Learning focused on cyber security has also been shared at the fair.

The fair is intended to support entrepreneurship and job creation by expanding each individual’s knowledge, skills, and networks, and to help Nepali creators move forward with American business partners regarded as central to the global market, as well as to progress in the worldwide market.

First launched in 2023, the Creators Fair has reached its fourth edition this year. Along with the exchange of creative knowledge, various Nepali artists provided entertainment to participants. The fair is scheduled to conclude on Saturday.
