All Banks and Financial institution's Branch Offices Operating Regularly:

All Banks and Financial institution's Branch Offices will be operating regularly. Although the banks continued their services during the four-month-long lockdown, not all branch offices were open.

The opened branch offices were not open all day. Although most of the branches were open in the urban areas, the branches in the rural areas were less in operation.

Nepal Rastra Bank had instructed the banks to open all branches as soon as the lockdown was completely removed. The Nepal Bankers' Association has informed that the service will be provided from all branches full time as per the instructions of NRB.

According to the association, security precautions will be taken as there is still a risk of spreading corona infection.

On Thursday, NRB had instructed to open all the branch offices of banks and financial institutions during office hours without any congestion and keeping distance.

The central bank has also issued a circular to banks and financial institutions asking them to remove the shift system. Following the directive, branches of banks and financial institutions will have to operate for eight hours regularly as in the past.

Banks and financial institutions had operated only a limited number of branches for a limited time after the government shut down the bank on March 24, citing an increase in Corona infection. Similarly, in the last few days, they had operated their branches in the shift system.

The bank has mentioned in the circular to provide services to the service recipients by opening branches of banks and financial institutions regularly till the time of banking transactions. The central bank has also directed to fully comply with the health standards and create a congested environment in the office. Similarly, NRB should also encourage electronic transactions.
