The Department of Nepali at Valmeeki Vidyapeeth organized a felicitation and book launch ceremony on Ashoj 22, 2083, at the campus auditorium. The event honored retired professors of the institution and marked the release of Samayako Swar (Voice of Time), a Nepali poetry collection written by poet Ramhari Koirala.
The ceremony was chaired by Prof. Dr. Narayan Prasad Chalise, Head of the Department of Nepali, with Prof. Dr. Kul Prasad Koirala, former Vice-Chancellor of Nepal Sanskrit University, attending as the chief guest.
Poetry Collection 'Samayako Swar' Released
Former Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kul Prasad Koirala formally launched the poetry collection Samayako Swar during the ceremony.
The collection contains 63 metrical poems composed by Ramhari Koirala during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prof. Dr. Devi Nepal and former Campus Chief Prof. Dr. Bhagwat Dhakal reviewed the collection and discussed its literary aspects.
Three Retired Professors Honored
The ceremony also recognized three professors who had retired after serving for many years at Valmeeki Vidyapeeth under Nepal Sanskrit University.

Members of the Department of Nepali prepared and presented citations of honor recognizing the professors' contributions.
Associate Prof. Chintamani Bhattarai read the citation for Associate Prof. Krishna Prasad Gyawali, while Prof. Dr. Lekh Prasad Niraula presented the citation for Associate Prof. Ramhari Koirala.
Prof. Dr. Dhruva Prasad Bhattarai read the citation honoring retired professor Dr. Nawaraj Kattel, who also serves as Registrar of Nepal Sanskrit University.
Continuous Study Is the Secret to a Long Life: Former Vice-Chancellor
Addressing the ceremony, chief guest Prof. Dr. Kul Prasad Koirala emphasized that professors should never become complacent about studying, teaching, and conducting research.
He described continuous study as the secret to a long life and encouraged academics to remain engaged in intellectual and scholarly activities throughout their lives.
Prof. Dr. Shanti Krishna Adhikari, President of the Nepal Sanskrit University Central Professors' Association, spoke about poet Ramhari Koirala's warm and compassionate personality.
Similarly, literary figure Krishna Hari Koirala discussed the poet's literary achievements, while distinguished poet Prahlad Pokharel welcomed him into the field of Nepali literature.
Participation of Academics and Literary Figures
Prof. Dr. Sudhan Kumar Poudel, Executive Director of the Research Center, attended the ceremony as a special guest.
Other participants included Prof. Achyut Prasad Lamichhane, Principal of Valmeeki Vidyapeeth; Associate Prof. Krishna Prasad Pokharel, former Campus Chief of Bhaktapur Multiple Campus; Prof. Shambhu Raj Gautam; General Secretary Dr. Narayan Prasad Baral; and Ramesh Joshi, President of the Nepal Sanskrit University Employees' Association.
Heads of various academic departments, professors, university employees, and students also attended the event.
During the ceremony, Dr. Ratnawali Sharma, Prof. Nawaraj Ghimire, poet Rupak Alankar, Principal Achyut Prasad Lamichhane, and former Campus Chief Krishna Prasad Pokharel were among those who delivered messages of goodwill to the retired professors.
