The Research Management Committee of Pindeshwor Vidyapeeth organized a journal launch, mini-research presentations, and oral examinations (viva voce) at the campus's Kalidas Building on Wednesday, Ashoj 21, 2083.
The program included the release of two issues of the research journal Shodh Sudha, along with presentations and oral examinations conducted by researchers working on mini-research projects in various academic disciplines.
Two Issues of Shodh Sudha Released Simultaneously

Volume 4, Issue 5 (2083): Research Issue
The Special Issue on Working Papers contains 43 papers presented during various training programs organized by the Research Management Committee with support from the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The collected papers cover training programs conducted in different years, including an orientation program on the new curricula for the first, second, and third years of the Shastri program in 2081, research methodology training conducted in 2082, and curriculum-related training for the fourth year of the Shastri program held in Jestha 2083.
Associate Prof. Kashinath Poudel, Principal of Pindeshwor Vidyapeeth; Associate Prof. Dr. Mahananda Timilsina, Coordinator of the Research Management Committee; and Prof. Dr. Ramesh Ghimire, former member of the Nepal Sanskrit University Service Commission, jointly released the journal issues.
Prof. Dr. Ramesh Ghimire and Prof. Dr. Sagar Mani Subedi reviewed the published articles.
Seven Researchers Present Mini-Research Projects
Seven researchers who had submitted mini-research proposals in the previous year and subsequently undertaken research presented summaries of their work during the program.
The research covered Sanskrit grammar, Sanskrit literature, English literature, Nepali literature, and economics.
Oral examinations were also conducted on the research projects. During these sessions, the researchers responded to questions and inquiries raised by academic experts, supporting their explanations with relevant evidence.
Research Topics and Researchers
The seven mini-research projects presented during the program were:
1. Assistant Professor Kamana Aryal: Analysis of symbols representing resistance to patriarchal dominance in Bhrunaprashna, a poetry collection written by Tika Atreya.
2. Associate Prof. Dr. Guru Prasad Koirala: A comparative study of the elements of poetics described in the Vishnudharmottara Purana and the Agni Purana.
3. Dr. Nityananda Khatiwada: A study of semantic suggestion in the poems of Gopal Prasad Rimal.
4. Assistant Professor Jang Bahadur Bhattarai: An interpretation of Samrat Upadhyay's novel The Guru of Love from the perspective of Jacques Derrida's theory of deconstruction.
5. Associate Prof. Dr. Mahananda Timilsina: A comparative study of the literary works Ritusamhara and Rituvichara.
6. Associate Prof. Dr. Bhawani Shankar Bhattarai: An examination of the sequence prescribed in the Sharadaprabha commentary for simplifying the Ashtadhyayi.
7. Dr. Krishna Gopal Adhikari: The impact of macroeconomic factors on Nepal's economic growth.
The presentations provided an opportunity for the researchers to explain their findings and respond to academic questions concerning their respective studies.
Academic Experts Participate in Research Evaluation
Several professors and researchers attended the program as research advisers and subject experts.
They included Prof. Dr. Sagar Mani Subedi, Prof. Dr. Khem Raj Khanal, Associate Prof. Dr. Krishna Prasad Bhandari, Assistant Professor Sita Khatiwada, Assistant Prof. Dr. Diwakar Regmi, and Assistant Prof. Dr. Subash Chandra Neupane.
The participating experts raised questions and sought clarification regarding the research findings, to which the researchers provided evidence-based responses.
During the program, speakers emphasized that such research activities could make an important contribution to bringing the knowledge contained in Sanskrit literature and traditional scholarship into wider academic discussion through research and publication.
Research Management Committee Outlines Regular Academic Activities
Associate Prof. Dr. Mahananda Timilsina, Coordinator of the Research Management Committee, provided information about the committee's ongoing academic and research activities.
He said the committee regularly undertakes several initiatives, including research journal publication, mini-research projects, research methodology seminars, faculty capacity development training, and curriculum-related training programs.
The activities are intended to support academic research, faculty development, and the dissemination of scholarly knowledge within the institution.
