Chandra Prakash Baniya's 'Maharani' Awarded by Madan Puraskar 2076:

The general meeting of the Madan Puraskar Guthi held on Sunday, September 20, 2020 (Ashoj 4, 2077) decided to confer the Jagdamba-Shri of the year 2076 BS to Shree Shanti Thatal as She has been dedicated to the Nepali song and music sector for the last six decades and has made a special contribution in the upliftment of the song and music sector.

The same meeting decided to award the Madan Award 2076 to Mr. Chandra Prakash Baniya for his book "Maharani" (novel) published in 2076 BS.

Out of the 151 books received in the Guthi for this purpose, seven books are Jokarko Banduk (Vimal Nibha), Dharasaidharsako Chakravyuh (Tirtha Shrestha), Parityakta (Bhuvan Dhungana), Maharsanighantu (Volumes 1-3) (Yogi Dharmamaharas), Maharani (Chandra Prakash Bania), respectively. Mohapath (Lalit Bisht) and Yatrama (Sharda Sharma) were selected as Madan Award List 2076.

Established in 2012 BS, the Madan Award Guthi first awarded the Madan Award in 2013 to Satya Mohan Joshi's "Our Folk Culture" in prose, Chittaranjan Nepali's "General Bhimsen Thapa and then Nepal" in social sciences, and Balram Joshi's "Adhika Vibhav Sthirvidyutta Utpadak" in science.

After the death of Rani Jagdamba in 2045 BS, the Jagdamba-Shree Award was established in her memory. This honor was first conferred on Narayan Gopal.

One of the books published in the Nepali language from Nepal and outside Nepal and received in the Guthi according to the constitution of the Guthi is awarded the Madan Award and Jagdamba-Shree to the person/organization who contributes to the growth of the Nepali language, language, and culture.

Considering the situation arising due to Covid-19, the program details of the Madan Award and Jagdamba-Shree Samman ceremony will be made public later.
