Chandragiri Municipality to Develop as an Educational Center
Chandragiri municipality, Kathmandu aims to become an educational center to cater to the growing demand for education in the expanded Kathmandu region. The municipality has put forth plans and initiatives to achieve this objective.
Municipality's Initiative:
The Mayor of the municipality, Ghanshyam Giri, mentioned that the municipality has taken steps to develop Chandragiri as an educational center. Speaking at the 33rd anniversary ceremony of the local Richa Saha Shiksha Sadan, Giri shared that the municipality is working towards making the urban area a hub of education within the Kathmandu Valley.
Importance of Stakeholder Support:
Giri emphasized that for the educational sector to be useful and multi-functional for the people, the support and cooperation of all stakeholders involved in this sector are necessary. He mentioned that with meaningful support and cooperation from teachers and parents, the country can produce the manpower it needs.
Initiatives for Financially Weak Students:
The deputy head of the city, Vasanthi Shrestha, mentioned that the municipality will provide support for higher education to the financially weak daughter-in-law of the municipality. Shrestha also highlighted that no daughter-in-law should have to stay back from pursuing education due to financial constraints.
Phased Plan for Development:
The municipality has initiated a phased plan for the development of the educational sector. Shrestha shared that the plan would be implemented practically and would focus on making Chandragiri a hub of quality education.
Efforts by Local Schools:
Navraj Khadka, the founder and headmaster of Richa Sa Shiksha Sadan, expressed his happiness about the parent's and students' support for his small effort to share knowledge. The school organized a cultural program on the occasion, and Mayor Giri honored the students who got the best marks in the SEE.
With the initiatives and plans undertaken by the Chandragiri municipality, the area is set to become a center of educational excellence. The stakeholders' support and cooperation, along with the municipality's efforts, can bring about a positive change in the educational sector in Nepal.
