Child Clubs Urge Rangeli to Become a Child-Friendly Municipality

Biratnagar, February 9, 2026 [Magh 26, 2082 BS].

Officials and members of child clubs active in various schools operating in Rangeli, Morang, have urged that Rangeli be made a child-friendly municipality.

At a one-day gathering organized by Rangeli Municipality, students affiliated with child clubs active in 12 community secondary schools and four institutional secondary schools within the municipality participated.

The gathering included a documentary screening and discussions on topics such as child marriage, child labor, and drug abuse.

By fiscal year 2082 to 83, 28 local levels have already been declared child-friendly local levels.

The government has set a target to declare all 753 local levels as child-friendly local levels by 2030. Nepal’s first child-friendly local level is Subal Municipality.

At the program chaired by Acting Mayor Bhuma Parajuli, Chief Administrative Officer Pradeep Kumar Shah, Education Officer Lila Devi Ojha, and others said they would meet all indicators required to make Rangeli a child-friendly municipality.

Similarly, Pavitra Pradhan, a student of Tribhuvan Secondary School, Gohigada, and Aryan Rajbanshi, a student of Mount Makalu English Boarding School, also drew the attention of all stakeholders to make Rangeli Municipality a child-friendly municipality.
