School Education Activities: Suggestions Sought for Curriculum Framework Revision, Explanation Asked from Three Absent Teachers

The Center for Education and Human Resource Development (CEHRD) under the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Education and Sports, has made public various notices through “2082/083 Issue-11 School Education Activities-108 (Full Marks 315).” According to the published activities, the Curriculum Development Centre has sought suggestions from stakeholders for revising the National Curriculum Framework 2076, while three teachers who have been absent for a long time from different schools have been directed to submit explanations and come into contact.

National Curriculum Framework Being Revised

The Curriculum Development Centre, Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, under the Ministry of Education and Sports, has sought technical, educational, and academic suggestions from stakeholders to make timely revisions and updates to the “National Curriculum Framework 2076.”

The framework is being revised as per the recommendation of the meeting of the National Curriculum Development and Evaluation Council held on 2083.01.11 and the ministerial-level decision of the ministry dated 2083.01.22. Stakeholders may submit their suggestions through the link available on the Centre’s website (www.moecdc.gov.np) or through the designated Google Form.

Warning of Action Against Teachers Absent Without Information

The concerned bodies have issued notices with warnings of action against three teachers working at different schools who have been absent for a long time without information. Details of the teachers notified to submit explanations and come into contact are as follows:

Teacher Wal Bahadur Pun (Gandaki Province)

Working school/post: Shree Mahendra Shikhari Secondary School, Modi Rural Municipality-5, Parbat (Primary Level, Third Class). Signal No. 122864.

Details: He had taken one year of extraordinary leave from 2081.01.24, but after the leave ended, he did not report for duty and sent his resignation on 2082.12.19. It has been recommended by the School Management Committee and the Education Development and Coordination Unit, Parbat, stating that he and his wife have obtained residential visas for the United States.

Instruction: The Education Development Division, Pokhara, of the Gandaki Provincial Government has notified him to appear before the division within 15 days, excluding travel time, with a satisfactory explanation. Otherwise, it has been stated that action will be taken in accordance with the Education Act 2028 and the Education Rules 2059.

Teacher Laxmikanta Joshi (Kailali)

Working school/post: Shree Dhangadhi Model Technical Secondary School, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-8, Kailali (Lower Secondary Level, Third Class, English Subject). Signal No. 144758. (Permanent address: Rupal 4, Dadeldhura).

Details: The period of extraordinary leave has already ended, and he has been absent without notice since 2081.10.5.

Instruction: The Education Development and Coordination Unit, Kailali, has directed him to come into contact with the school within 30 days from the date of publication of the notice with a reasonable cause. Otherwise, the notice states that action will proceed as per the prevailing law.

Teacher Dandu Sherpa (Koshi Province)

Working school/post: Shree Simbuk Basic School, Mikwakhola Rural Municipality-5, Taplejung (Primary Level, Third Class, Permanent). Signal No. 175162.

Details: He has been absent from the school without information since 2082.07.11 and has not come to report for duty despite repeated correspondence.

Instruction: The Education Development Directorate, Dhankuta, of the Koshi Provincial Government has directed him to submit an explanation within 7 (seven) days from the date of publication of the notice, clearly stating proper and sufficient reasons as to why he should not be removed from educational service.
