Demand to Operate Sahid Dasharath Chand Health Science University
The Struggle Committee for the Establishment of Sahid Dasharath Chand Health Science University submitted a memorandum to Sudurpashchim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah. The delegation, led by Coordinator Lokraj Pandey (Ago), Co-Coordinator Anand Prasad Bhatt, and Secretary Dharmasingh Kunwar, requested the Chief Minister to immediately advance the implementation process of the university.
Receiving the memorandum, Chief Minister Shah expressed his commitment to operating the university. He stated that Sahid Dasharath Chand Health Science University would not only be the pride of Sudurpashchim but also of the entire nation. He assured that the provincial government is ready to coordinate and take necessary initiatives for the university’s early operation.
The Chief Minister emphasized that local people should not face delays in accessing quality healthcare services and medical education. He added that continuous dialogue with the federal government is underway to accelerate the appointment of officials, allocation of budget, and management of infrastructure.
Although the Act of Sahid Dasharath Chand Health Science University has already been passed by the House of Representatives and certified by the President, the formation of the University Assembly and the appointment of officials have not yet progressed.
The memorandum highlighted that the university is expected to significantly contribute to employment, business, tourism, and economic transformation. Therefore, it must be brought into operation at the earliest.
