Kathmandu — Minister for Education, Science and Technology Sasmit Pokharel and Norwegian Ambassador to Nepal Dagny Mjøs held a courtesy meeting.
The meeting was held on Monday at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in Singha Durbar.
During the meeting, they discussed the support and cooperation of the Norwegian government in Nepal’s education, science and technology, and sports sectors.
The discussion focused mainly on the priorities of the current government, the continuation of Norway’s support to Nepal’s school education, and future partnerships.
On the occasion, Education Minister Pokharel thanked the Norwegian government for its support in Nepal’s school education sector, particularly in areas such as inclusion, equity, fundamental learning, and a climate-smart education system.
He also stated that Nepal can learn many things from Norway’s excellent education system and technology, and expressed the ministry’s readiness for that purpose.
During the meeting, Ambassador Mjøs expressed Norway’s commitment to continuing its support for Nepal’s school education.
Stating that she was aware of the Government of Nepal’s action plan and priorities, the ambassador said the Norwegian government is eager to further cooperate in the education sector.
