
Minister Mahabir Pun to Publicize TU Land and Property Investigation Report
Minister for Education, Science, and Technology, Mahabir Pun, has announced that the government will make public the report submitted by the Tribhuvan University Land and Immovable Property Investigation Committee.
The Council of Ministers had earlier decided to forward the report to the Ministry of Education for implementation. The report, which was originally submitted to former Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli, had not been made public until now.
Plans to Establish Nuclear Research Center for Medical Use
Minister Pun also informed that the government has decided to take immediate steps to establish a Nuclear Research Center in Nepal, dedicated to the production of essential radioactive medicines used in the treatment of cancer patients. This initiative aims to ensure the availability of life-saving medical isotopes within the country itself.
Reforms in NAST for Effective Research and Innovation
The Minister stated that a task force will be formed immediately to make the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) more result-oriented in scientific research and innovation. The task force will focus on attracting talented Nepali scientists and enhancing institutional efficiency through necessary reforms and restructuring.
Appointment in Sanskrit University Service Commission
Similarly, the government has also decided to immediately appoint officials to the vacant positions in the Service Commission of Nepal Sanskrit University as per the legal provisions.
