
CTEVT to Reconduct Exams After Answer Sheets Burned in Gen Z Movement
The Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) has decided to reconduct examinations after thousands of students’ answer sheets were destroyed in the recent Gen Z movement.
According to CTEVT Spokesperson Tailendra Acharya, the re-examinations will begin from Mangsir 4.
14,700 CTEVT Answer Sheets Destroyed
A total of 14,700 answer sheets from CTEVT’s Diploma, Certificate, and Pre-Diploma levels were burned during the incident. The answer sheets, which had been kept at the police office for safekeeping, were completely destroyed in the fire.
TU and CTEVT Affected by the Incident
In addition to CTEVT, Tribhuvan University (TU) also lost 652 students’ answer sheets in the same unrest. However, the largest loss occurred in CTEVT examinations.
Among the affected regions, five exam centers in Koshi Province and eighteen centers in Bagmati Province suffered damage.
Extent of Damage

Koshi Province: 3,587 answer sheets destroyed (1,937 regular and 1,650 partial).

Bagmati Province: 11,203 answer sheets destroyed across 18 centers.

Total: 14,790 answer sheets burned.

Some answer sheets were partially damaged, while many were completely destroyed.
Re-Examination Notice Issued
The CTEVT Examination Control Office has already issued an official notice stating that re-examinations will be conducted starting from Mangsir 4 for the affected students.
According to the office, some students lost more than one answer sheet, and arrangements are being made to ensure fair re-evaluation through the new examination schedule.
