Hajj 2027 Applications Open; Previous Applicants Asked to Claim Refunds

The Nepal Hajj Committee under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of Nepal, has invited applications for the Hajj pilgrimage for 2027 (Hajj 1448). The committee published two separate notices on 2083 Bhadra 3, calling on Muslim devotees interested in participating in the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage to apply and asking those who had applied before 2026 but were unable to travel for various reasons to claim a refund of their Hajj fees.

Hajj 2027 Application Details

A quota has been fixed allowing 1,200 Nepali Muslim devotees to perform the Hajj pilgrimage from Nepal. The duration of the pilgrimage will be 40 days.

Applicants must download and complete the application form available on the committee’s website at nepalhajj.moha.gov.np.

Applicants must deposit Rs. 200,000 (two hundred thousand rupees) as the first installment in the name of the Nepal Hajj Committee at Rastriya Banijya Bank, Putalisadak Branch, Current Account No. 1130100000396001.

Applications must be submitted to the District Administration Office of the applicant’s permanent address between 2083/05/03 and 2083/06/01 (August 19 to September 17, 2026).

Priority and Conditions

  • Applicants who are unable to walk or are above 70 years of age must be accompanied by one assistant.

  • Priority will be given to those who applied in previous years but could not travel and to first-time applicants. Applicants will also be selected on a first-come, first-priority basis.

Documents Required with the Application

  • Photocopy of Nepali citizenship certificate – 1 copy

  • Photocopy of passport (MRP or e-passport) – 1 copy

  • Original bank voucher showing payment of the first installment of the Hajj fee – 1 copy

  • Recent passport-size photographs taken against a white background – 2 copies

  • Photocopy of certificate showing full vaccination against COVID-19 – 1 copy

  • Photocopy of a cheque from the applicant’s bank account; one cheque from a member of the same household family will also be accepted – 1 copy

Hajj Fee Refund Details

The committee has asked applicants who deposited money in the bank for the Hajj pilgrimage in various years before 2026 but were unable to travel or did not travel for various reasons to claim their refunds.

Those who have not yet received their refunds must apply within 30 days from the date of publication of the notice, from 2083/05/03 to 2083/06/01.

Applicants may submit the required documents to the committee’s secretariat or send scanned copies by email to nepalhaj@gmail.com.

Documents Required for a Refund

  • Photocopy of Nepali citizenship certificate – 1 copy

  • Photocopy of passport – 1 copy

  • Photocopies of all bank vouchers showing payment of the Hajj fee – 1 copy each

  • Photocopy of a cheque from the applicant’s bank account for the refund; if members belong to the same household family, a cheque from one member will be accepted – 1 copy

  • Recommendation letter from the concerned District Administration Office along with the applicant’s application – 1 copy

  • If the applicant who deposited the money has died, is unable to receive the refund due to disability, or does not have a bank account: a recommendation letter from the concerned ward office specifying the household member who will receive the refund, along with a copy of the relationship verification document – 1 copy
