Empowering Teachers through Social and Creative Arts Training in Siddharthnagar, Kapilvastu

In an effort to enhance children's academic learning and foster a connection between art and education, a one-week social and creative arts teaching program has commenced on the 6th of May 2023 in Siddharthnagar, Kapilvastu. This unique initiative aims to equip teachers from Tilottma municipality with essential skills in folk music, folk song, and painting.

The Sadhana Cultural Arts Center, under the management of Tilottama Municipality, has organized this training program to empower community school teachers by integrating art and culture into the educational curriculum. Priyanka Thapa, the Manager of Sadhana Cultural Arts Center, believes that this initiative will not only aid teachers in their professional development but also contribute to the preservation of art and culture.

The training program was inaugurated by Jageshwaridevi Chaudhary, Deputy Head of Tilottma Municipality, who presented medals to the participating teachers, symbolizing their commitment to embracing innovative teaching methods.

Chandra Adhikari, the principal of Gyanganga Pathshala, highlighted the decreasing learning ability of children when faced with complex language in schools. To counter this challenge, the training sessions are facilitated by esteemed experts in various art forms. Ram Thapa, a renowned folk dance researcher, and Rajesh Thapa, the outgoing general manager of Rashtriya Naachghar, will lead the training sessions. Accomplished artists such as Anu Rajak, Mukesh Gurung, Pritam Rana, and Roshan Gurung will share their expertise in dance, painting, singing, and musical instruments respectively. Indra Bahadur Vishwakarma, Himal Thapa, and Poonam Thapa will also contribute to the program by providing comprehensive training based on the syllabus.

The training program has attracted teachers from 42 schools within Tilottama Municipality. By equipping these educators with the necessary skills and knowledge, the program aims to enhance the quality of education and create a vibrant learning environment where students can thrive.

Through this holistic approach to teaching, which emphasizes creativity and artistic expression, teachers will be better equipped to engage students and promote a love for learning. The incorporation of art and culture into the educational framework will not only enrich academic knowledge but also foster well-rounded individuals with a deep appreciation for their heritage.

By fostering the integration of art and education, this initiative in Siddharthnagar, Kapilvastu, paves the way for a more inclusive and comprehensive approach to learning, empowering teachers and students alike to explore the world through the lens of creativity and cultural expression.
