Gorkhapatra Sansthan Wins First Place in Inter-Governmental Media Houses Competition

Gorkhapatra Sansthan, one of Nepal's leading media houses, has won the first prize in the Hajirizwaf competition organized on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the National News Agency (RSS). The competition was held among intergovernmental media houses in conjunction with the RSS branch of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists.

Krishnaprasad Bhandari, Bishnuprasad Pandey, and Rupchandra Bhatt of Gorkhapatra Institute made up the winning team, while the RSS team, consisting of Ravin Karki, Omprakash Bohora, and Sita Bhattarai, won the second position. Nepal Television and Radio Nepal teams secured the third place and consolation prize, respectively.

The competition aimed to promote creativity while maintaining cordiality among intergovernmental media houses. The RSS general manager, Siddharaj Rai, announced the start of the competition by asking the first question and expressed his belief that such extracurricular activities would enhance creative ability using intelligence.

RSS Deputy General Manager Somnath Lamichhane and RSS Executive Editor Suryachandra Basnet coordinated the competition, emphasizing its usefulness in highlighting creativity. Pavitra Guragai, President of Mahasangh RSS Pratishthan Branch, stated that the competition was organized to strengthen the relationship between the government media.

Alongside the competition, workshops on yoga, healthy lifestyle, and stress management were conducted as part of the anniversary celebration of the RSS. The prizes for the winners will be distributed during the RSS anniversary function scheduled for February 19.

The competition's results are an excellent testimony to the creative potential and competitive spirit of Nepal's media houses, which can help raise the quality of journalism and enhance the credibility of the media industry.
