Govt to Reward Entrepreneurs who Return from Foreign Employment

The government is going to reward Nepali workers who return from foreign employment and become entrepreneurs in the country. The government is going to reward Nepali workers who have returned to their home country for foreign employment for the purpose of encouraging self-employment.

The Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security has called on those who have returned from foreign employment to apply for the award through public notice. Entrepreneurs who have returned from foreign employment and are contributing to the national production and employment of the country by making ventures in the country can apply within 10 Falgun, the ministry said.

According to the Ministry, a six-member recommendation committee has been formed under the coordination of the Joint Secretary of the Employment Management Division of the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security in accordance with the National Honors and Awards Management Procedure-2076 BS.

In this program, at least one person from all the seven provinces of the country will be selected and the best entrepreneurs who are doing entrepreneurship in the country after returning from foreign employment will be selected.

One of the applicants will receive the Best Entrepreneur National Award with a cash prize of Rs. 150,000 and a maximum of seven will receive the Entrepreneur National Award of Rs. 75,000 per person.

According to the Ministry of Labor, those who wish to participate in such incentive programs of the government can apply only if they have returned from a foreign country after spending at least one year on a work visa, at least one year after returning from foreign employment and have not received such award from the Ministry of Labor.

According to the ministry, participants in the program can download the application form from the website of the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security to claim the award. The application should be accompanied by a certificate of Nepali citizenship, passport with proof of work permit and visa, income tax registration certificate, and a copy of last year's tax payment certificate and self-declaration that the award was not given earlier.

The Ministry has informed that the application form can be registered or emailed to the Employment Coordination and Information Branch of the Ministry. The Ministry has stated that the best entrepreneurs will be honored among the applications received on the basis of the information.

According to the Ministry, the government is going to reward the entrepreneurs who return home and start successful enterprises to reduce the tendency of Nepali workers returning from foreign employment to go abroad or stay abroad illegally with special encouragement from the state to make good use of the knowledge, skills, experience, and capital acquired in connection with employment.

The ministry hopes that such awards and honors will give them more impetus to do something in the country and work for income and employment. From the applications received, successful entrepreneurs who have created employment, capital investment, use of local resources, resources, and technology, exported products, bearing social responsibility, using environment-friendly technology and pollution management and running enterprises will be selected on the basis of geographical area, the ministry said.
