The Government of Nepal, Ministry of Home Affairs, has suspended the National Private and Boarding Schools' Association Nepal (N-PABSAN) until further notice. The ministry announced the decision through a public notice concerning the association's suspension, issued on Kartik 13, 2083 (2083/07/13 BS).
Reasons for Suspension
According to the notice, N-PABSAN, which was established and operating with the approval of the Government of Nepal under the National Directives Act, 2018 BS, repeatedly failed to comply with directives issued by the ministry under Section 5 of the Act.
The ministry also stated that the association's office-bearers had been found engaging in activities contrary to its government-approved statute and fundamental objectives.
The ministry said it held discussions with concerned stakeholders on Ashoj 23, 2083 (2083/06/23 BS), urging them to operate in accordance with the National Directives Act, 2018 BS, and the directives issued by the ministry on Mangsir 12, 2082 (2082/08/12 BS).
However, the ministry stated that the association had failed to act in accordance with those instructions and had not complied with the directives.
As a result, the ministry suspended N-PABSAN under Section 6(2) of the National Directives Act, 2018 BS.
Ministry Warns of Legal Action Against Unauthorized Activities
The Ministry of Home Affairs has clarified that any activities carried out by any group or faction in the name of N-PABSAN following the publication of the suspension notice will be considered illegal.
The ministry has also warned that any such activities will be subject to legal action in accordance with prevailing laws.
