Update on Membership Renewal Requirements at The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal
Current Biometric Requirements: As of July 16, 2022, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) announced that biometric verification was compulsory for renewing professional certifications. This was a part of the organization's effort to maintain up-to-date and organized member information.
Change in Biometric Policy
However, there has been a change in this policy. As of November 26, 2023, biometric verification is no longer required for existing members to renew their memberships. This adjustment aims to streamline the renewal process and make it more accessible for all members.
Future Implementation
It is important to note that this is a temporary change. Starting from July 2024, biometric verification will again be mandatory for all membership renewals. Members who are currently residing abroad will be exempt from this requirement.
