Dr. Sumaya Rai’s ‘Jindagi Phool Samjhe Phoolai Ho: Jivanayatra’ Released

Kathmandu, 2082 Falgun 3 - Psychologist Dr. Sumaya Rai’s work ‘Jindagi Phool Samjhe Phoolai Ho: Jivanayatra’ has been released.

Prof. Dr. Govindraj Bhattarai, former MP Pramila Rai, rights activist Bamkumari Budha, former Vice-Chairperson of the Indigenous Nationalities Upliftment National Academy Jitpal Kirat, Acting Chairperson of Kirat Rai Yayokkha Yuvaraj Rai, and author Rai released the work at a ceremony held in Kathmandu.

Born on BS 2019 Jestha 24 in Lahan, Siraha, Dr. Rai is a former Assistant Professor of Tribhuvan University and the first female Chairperson of Kirat Rai Yayokkha. She has created ‘Jindagi Phool Samjhe Phoolai Ho: Jivanayatra’ by delving into her personal, family, and social life.

A song titled ‘Jindagi Phool Samjhe Phoolai Ho’—written by the author, composed by DR Attu, and sung by Rajesh Payal Rai—has been used as the title of the work.

The work was reviewed by Dr. Shantimaya Giri and Kailash Rai.

The detailed work spans five hundred and fifty pages. It includes 113 titled writings grouped into three phases: First Phase, Middle Phase, and Final Phase. The author’s family tree, Chinaru’s perspective, a schedule, and photographs have also been included.

This is Dr. Rai’s fifth work. Previously published works include: ‘Tato Hawa’ (song album, 2071), ‘Avyakt Abhivyakti’ (poetry collection, 20720), ‘Chham Sunakhari’ (song collection, 2072), and ‘Mero Antim Ichchhapatra’ (poetry and song collection, 2075).

According to reviewer speakers, these works have highlighted the Nepali language, Kirati culture, Kirati history, and identity.
