Lincoln College students provide relief and learning materials in Kavre
Kathmandu, February 10, 2026 [2082 Magh 27] - Students of Lincoln International College, Kathmandu, handed over relief and educational materials worth about NPR 150,000 to orphaned and helpless children sheltered at the Kumar Balram Memorial Hostel in Dolaghat, Chaunrideurali Rural Municipality-4, Kavre.
The support was provided on Saturday under “Project Yatra,” led by BBA seventh-semester students. A team of 22 students and four teachers visited the hostel and distributed materials to support children’s daily living and studies during the winter season.
Project Yatra and resource mobilization
According to the college, students were assigned responsibility, in line with the academic calendar, for practical learning in event management. However, the students did not limit it to internal assessment alone and launched a social responsibility campaign named “Project Yatra.”
The students mobilized resources worth about NPR 150,000 through collaboration with various donors and personal contributions.

To support learning, the team also provided:

Prioritizing health and hygiene, the team provided:

A water filter for the hostel

Sanitary pads for adolescent girls

Sports materials for physical fitness
On the same occasion, the team distributed food items, biscuits, and chocolates. They also carried out tree plantation within the hostel premises to deliver a message of environmental protection.
Statements from the college and the hostel
Academic Coordinator Rozal Joshi said the college has consistently emphasized socially useful education. She said the college has adopted a policy of making education practical and society-friendly, and that “Project Yatra” carried the message “Let us live and save.”
Faculty member Rasmit Shrestha, from event management, praised the students’ managerial capacity. He said it began as an academic exercise, but students took it as a mission, turning a journey that started with a question mark into service-oriented work and presenting an example.
Receiving the materials, Manoj Shrestha, in-charge of the Kumar Balram Memorial Hostel operated by Laxmi Pratisthan, said the students’ support provided significant help for running the hostel. He said social responsibility is not only a duty of educational institutions, but also a human obligation.
He said the provided food and clothing played an important role in meeting basic needs, and that the educational materials increased children’s motivation and encouragement for learning. He added that the support helped make children’s daily living easier and also strengthened their confidence.
He also said the plantation activity helped build environmental awareness among children, and expressed confidence that the cooperation between the college and the hostel will continue in the future.
At the hostel in Kavre, children without guardians and children from extremely poor families have been receiving free accommodation and education.
