Madhesh Chief Minister Prioritizes Education Reform

Chief Minister Singh Declares Education Reform as Top Priority

Madhesh Province Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh has declared that the province will now focus on improving the education sector.

He made this announcement while speaking at the inauguration of the JS Murarka Campus, affiliated with Rajarshi Janak University.

Madhesh Lagging in Education

The Chief Minister stated that Madhesh Province has seven of the ten districts with the weakest education indicators in the country. He emphasized that the province cannot progress or achieve development without improving education.

While monitoring the health sector late into the night, the Chief Minister found that 150 unauthorized hospitals were operating. He stated that those operating illegally would either be prosecuted or closed, and the first phase of this initiative had already been completed.

"We are now focusing on improving education. We are preparing to monitor schools across all eight districts of Madhesh Province," said Singh.

Collaborative Approach to Education Reform

He added that this year's SEE results have improved. Since local governments are responsible for examinations from Early Childhood Development (ECD) up to Grade 8, all three tiers of government must work together to improve education. He stressed that this cooperative approach should begin in Madhesh Province.

Support for JS Murarka College

Singh expressed his belief that JS Murarka College, recently established under the JS Murarka Multipurpose Campus, will become a model campus in Madhesh Province. With the launch of BBA and BCA programs, students from this region will no longer need to go elsewhere for such courses. He affirmed that the provincial government will continue to provide necessary support for the college's development.

Federal and Local Government Engagement

Federal Member of Parliament Ganga Prasad Yadav said the operation of JS Murarka Campus requires collaboration and agreement among all three levels of government, as well as political parties, to fulfill infrastructure and staffing needs.

He acknowledged the ongoing support from the Murarka donor family and Lahan Municipality since the campus's establishment.

Commitment to Community Education

Campus Chairperson and Lahan Municipality Mayor Mahesh Prasad Chaudhary shared his commitment to the development of this community campus and college. Since his election, he has been working actively for the improvement of community schools and this institution in particular.

He mentioned that the campus had received a quality assurance certification under the UGC program, indicating its strong academic standards. He expressed a joint aim to make this campus a model for the entire province.

Provincial Assembly Members Rajendra Prasad Chaudhary and Lalita Das, Siraha District Coordination Committee Chairperson Sadnesh Mahato, and Murari Lal Murarka from the donor family also extended their best wishes during the event.
