Madhesh University to Launch Law and Public Administration Faculties: Admissions Start in August 2023

In a significant development, Madhesh University has announced the commencement of admissions for the faculty of law and public administration from August 2023. The classes for the BA, LLB, and Public Administration courses will start from October, as informed by the University Registrar, Vijay Kumar Yadav.

Curriculum Approval and Collaboration with Kathmandu University

The syllabus for the new faculties has been meticulously prepared by the curriculum development committee, in conjunction with the expert team of Kathmandu University. The student admission process and criteria have been approved by the Academic Council, paving the way for a seamless transition into the new academic venture.

Registrar Yadav stated, "In a few days, we will formally start the admission process after passing the approval from the Nepal Bar Council." He also confirmed that the teaching of both faculties will commence in October.

Infrastructure Development and Land Acquisition

Madhesh University, established on September 7, 2022, has been proactive in acquiring land for its expansion. A total of 78 Bigha across Bahudarmai Municipality-2 of Parsa, Pokharia Municipality, and Pakahan Mainpur Rural Municipality of Parsa have been acquired for the necessary physical structures.

The university aims to develop Madhes province as a technical education hub, specializing in polytechnic, IT, management, paramedical, agricultural engineering, and other technical education fields.

Stringent Regulations and Financial Planning

With the implementation of University Organization, Educational and Administration Regulations 2079 BS (2022 AD), the university follows a clear framework for governance. The Financial Administration Regulations of the same year provide transparency and responsibility in financial matters.

Staffing and Construction Plans

In addition to the Vice-Chancellor and Registrar, the university has a modest staff of three administrators and four office assistants, with provisions for recruiting more as needed.

Registrar Yadav shared the university's vision for constructing its central campus by collecting donations from various embassies, the National Planning Commission, ministries, and other donors. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been prepared for this long-term plan.

The introduction of the law and public administration faculties marks a new chapter in the educational landscape of Madhes province. With strong regulations, strategic planning, and collaboration with industry experts, Madhesh University stands poised to become a landmark institution in the region.
