Meringden to Cover Bachelor-Level Campus Fees

Meringden Rural Municipality in Taplejung has decided to pay the fees of students pursuing higher education at the bachelor’s level. The municipality will cover the fees that must be paid to the campus by students studying at the bachelor’s level within the municipality.
Under its “Scholarship Program for Students Studying at the Bachelor’s Level,” Meringden Rural Municipality will pay the campus fees of students currently enrolled in bachelor’s studies. The municipality will pay the fees of students who have permanent residence within Meringden Rural Municipality and are studying at Pathibhara Multiple Campus, Taplejung. With the decision to cover the fees of bachelor’s-level students, the rural municipality and the campus signed an agreement on Wednesday to implement the scholarship program. In line with the municipality’s plan to improve educational standards and support higher education, the agreement was reached to pay the fees of students studying at the bachelor’s level through the scholarship program.
On behalf of Meringden Rural Municipality, Chairperson Yukhangbir Hangam (Dambar) and Acting Chief Administrative Officer Uday Kumar Yadav signed the bilateral agreement. On behalf of the campus, Pathibhara Multiple Campus Management Committee Chairperson Shila Ijam and Campus Chief Sajan Poudel signed the agreement.
According to the agreement for the implementation of the scholarship program, the municipality will pay the fees of students studying in all faculties and in all years (semesters) at the bachelor’s level in the current fiscal year. The agreement states that, based on the details provided by the campus, the municipality will make a lump-sum payment for the fees required for bachelor’s-level study.
