Mid-West University’s Fourth Convocation on Asar 3, 1,928 Students to Graduate

Mid-West University’s fourth convocation ceremony and 18th anniversary celebration will be held in Birendranagar on 2083 Asar 3 (17 June 2026). A total of 1,928 students of the university are set to graduate at the ceremony.

According to information provided by the university through a press conference on Monday, the students included in the grace list who had received their transcripts by 2083 Jestha 8 will be graduated. Among them, 455 have applied to participate in the convocation ceremony, while 428 of those applicants have applied to attend with their guardians.

Medals and Honors

At the convocation ceremony, one top-performing student at the postgraduate level will receive the “Chancellor Medal,” while one top-performing student at the undergraduate level will receive the “Vice-Chancellor Medal.”

Similarly, the university stated that 14 students, including five postgraduate-level students and seven undergraduate-level students from the Dean’s List of all graduate schools, will receive medals along with certificates.

According to Vice-Chancellor Narayan Prasad Paudel, a total of 6,370 students had graduated from the university up to its third convocation ceremony. With the fourth convocation, the number of students graduating from Mid-West University has reached 8,298.

The ceremony will be chaired by Minister for Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel, who is also the Pro-Chancellor of the university. Former Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University and educationist Kedar Bhakta Mathema is stated to be the chief guest.

Academic Structure and Programs of the University

At present, teaching and learning in various subjects are being conducted at Mid-West University under seven graduate schools through central departments based in Surkhet, MICD located in Lalitpur, 10 constituent campuses in Karnali and Lumbini provinces, and one affiliated campus in Kathmandu.

According to Vice-Chancellor Paudel, the academic programs being conducted at the university are as follows:

Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences: Undergraduate programs in 9 subjects and postgraduate programs in 13 subjects, along with MPhil and PhD programs.

Graduate School of Management: BBS, BBA, BHM, and BTTM programs at the undergraduate level; MBS, MBA, and MPA programs at the postgraduate level; along with MPhil and PhD programs.

Graduate School of Education: Undergraduate programs in 8 subjects and postgraduate programs in 7 subjects.

Graduate School of Engineering: 3 undergraduate programs and 2 postgraduate programs.

Graduate School of Science and Technology: 8 undergraduate programs and 2 postgraduate programs.

Graduate School of Law: Five-year BA LLB program at the undergraduate level.

Graduate School of Agriculture and Forestry: BSc.Ag program at the undergraduate level.
