Feedback Sought on Draft Climate Plan

The Government of Nepal, Ministry of Forests and Environment, has invited opinions and suggestions on the “National Implementation Plan for Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation (Draft).”
The Ministry published a notice calling on stakeholders and the general public to submit feedback on the draft.
Background: Nepal’s third NDC under the Paris Agreement
As Nepal is a Party to the Paris Agreement, it prepared a third Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) in line with the provisions of the Agreement.
The Government of Nepal (Council of Ministers) approved the third NDC on 2082/01/31, and the Government submitted it to the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change on 2082/02/05.
Draft implementation plan (2026–2035)
The draft implementation plan for the third NDC has been prepared for the period 2026 to 2035.
The Ministry stated that the draft is based on the quantitative and qualitative targets of the third NDC. It further noted that the draft was prepared after extensive discussions with all provinces, with active participation of multiple stakeholders.
Availability and submission of suggestions
The draft has been made available on the Ministry’s website for public information and feedback.
Stakeholders are required to study the draft and submit their suggestions within the specified deadline.
