TU Suspends Equivalence for Degrees from 5 Indian Universities

Tribhuvan University’s Curriculum Development Centre has suspended the process of granting equivalence for academic degrees obtained from five universities in India.
In a public notice, the Centre stated that the step has been taken on the basis of decisions by the Indian University Grants Commission (UGC) and other concerned bodies.
Decisions cited by the Centre
According to the Centre, it has received information that:

The UGC has withdrawn recognition of Techno Global University, Shillong.

The UGC has cancelled recognition of Sangain International University, Manipur.

The UGC has cancelled recognition of Pragyan International University, Jharkhand.

Shri Jagdishprasad Jhabarmal Tibrewala University, Rajasthan has been barred from admitting students at the PhD level from 2025 to 2030.
CMJ University, Meghalaya: additional details
The Centre also stated that:

CMJ University, Meghalaya has had its recognition withdrawn.

The state government has issued a notice to dissolve the university and has declared that academic degrees awarded after 2014 are invalid for higher education and government service.
Current status of equivalence
The Centre clarified that, as investigations are ongoing regarding the equivalence of degrees obtained from these universities, equivalence will not be granted at present.
