Nepal Pragya Pratisthan announced various Pragya Awards:

Nepal Pragya Pratisthan has announced various Pragya Awards. The 35th meeting of the Pragya Sabha of the foundation has announced more than a dozen awards. Prof. Dr. Birendra Prasad Mishra will be awarded the Nepal Social Science, Culture, Philosophy Award of Rs. 200,000 and Nepal Pragya Language Award of Rs. 200,000 will be awarded to Prof. Dr. Tejaratna Kansakar.

Nepal Pragya Nepali Sahitya Puraskar of one lakh to Harihar Khanal and Raviman Lamjel; Purna Vaidya, Indra Bahadur Gurung, Chaturbhujlal Das Kevarat and Hanshavati Kurmi will be awarded for the mother tongue literature spoken in Himal, Pahad and Tarai.

The meeting has decided to award the Bhanu Pragya International Nepali Literary Award of Rs 2 lakh each to Lil Bahadur Chhetri of Assam India and the Nepal Pragya Translation Award to Krishnaprakash Shrestha.

It has been decided to award 3,000 US dollars or equivalent to a foreigner to Professor Wang Hongwei of China.

It has been decided to give honorary membership to two scholars, one to lifetime, one to Dr. Mahesh Raj Pant and Prof. Dr. Surya Prasad Subedi for honorary membership of Pragya-Pratishthan and one to Anand Dev Bhatt for life. There is an arrangement for the lifetime member to get the financial facility on a monthly basis for life.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai inaugurated the Pragya Sabha. He said that the encroachment on Nepali culture has been increasing lately; He urged all cultural activists to stop it.
