
Pokhara Metropolis Signs MoU with Korea’s Youngjin University
Pokhara Metropolitan City, Kaski, and Youngjin University of the Republic of Korea have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for scholarship exchange in technical education.
Mayor Dhan Raj Acharya signed the MoU on behalf of Pokhara Metropolitan City, and Professor Choi Jae Young, representing Youngjin University.
Areas of Cooperation
The agreement aims to foster international cooperation in education, tourism, and technology through:

Human resource development and information exchange

Joint educational programs between the metropolis and the university

Partnership in visits and virtual learning programs
Previously, several projects have been implemented in Pokhara with the support of the Korean government and Korean agencies.
Commitments from Pokhara Metropolis
Mayor Acharya expressed confidence that the agreement will help students from Pokhara pursuing studies in Korea to benefit from academic opportunities, social security, and minimum employment support provided by the university.
He also stated that the metropolis will facilitate students’ access to international scholarships through this collaboration.
Youngjin University’s Perspective
Professor Choi Jae Young expressed readiness to work hand-in-hand with Pokhara Metropolitan City for local educational development. According to him, the cooperation will focus on technical education, human resource development, and mutual benefits.
The MoU also outlines plans for joint research and innovation projects in areas such as urban development, tourism, and sustainable practices.
Pokhara
