Province 2 Government allocated Rs. 33.56 billion Budget for 2077/078:

The Province 2 Government has allocated a budget of Rs. 33.56 billion for the Fiscal Year 2077/078. Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Vijay Yadav presented the budget for the coming fiscal year in the state assembly on Monday. In the total appropriation, Rs. 15.42 billion 26 million 98 thousand and Rs. 17.97 billion 82.91 million. Similarly, Rs. 160 million.

In the budget, Rs. 702.7 million has been allocated for the purchase of necessary materials for the identification, prevention, control, and treatment of the Covid-19 epidemic. A budget of Rs. 455.6 million has been allocated to promote Janakpur Provincial Hospital as a health science academy. The state government has allocated Rs. 807.4 million to continue the public housing program with significant investment.

The government is preparing to construct a 2 lane blacktop 5 km road with at least one canal in each constituency for the development of physical infrastructure. A budget of Rs. 672 million has been allocated for at least 64 ward roads. 30 million has been allocated for the preparation of a detailed project report for the construction of Madhesi Martyrs Highway from Saptari to Parsa in the state. A budget of Rs. 323.5 million has been allocated for the construction of drinking water, sewerage, and other public toilets in the state.

Although the budget is smaller in size than last year, the amount of constituency development program has not been cut. 2.35 billion has been allocated for this program. Rs. 2.83 billion has been allocated to the local levels within the state for the conditional grant, special grant, and supplementary grant in the coming Fiscal Year.

In the Fiscal Year 2075/076, the remaining budget of Rs. 865 million has been allocated to be paid to the Consumer Committee of the development programs run under the state government. The remaining amount will be paid on the basis of the demand of the concerned ministries, divisions, and offices so that there will be no precedent for such payment in the future.
