Resunga Municipality Announces Educational Incentive for SEE Graduates
In a commendable move to promote higher education within its community, Resunga Municipality in Gulmi has initiated an incentive program for students excelling in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE). Students achieving a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher are now eligible for a monthly stipend of Rs 1,000 to support their higher education studies.
Key Highlights of the Program:
- Eligibility: Students must achieve a GPA of 3.2 or above in SEE to qualify.
- Condition: Beneficiaries are required to enroll in a school within Resunga Municipality for their 11th and 12th-grade studies.
- Continuation of Support: Students maintaining a GPA of 3.2 or above in class 11 will receive the incentive for class 12 as well.
- Annual Budget: The municipality estimates an annual expenditure of Rs 2.7 million for this initiative.
Previously, the municipality offered Rs 4,000 per month to qualifying students, a policy adjusted to Rs 1,000 monthly due to increased expenditures. In its first year, this initiative benefited 16 students with a total disbursement of Rs 96,000.
This strategic move by Resunga Municipality aims to motivate students to pursue further education within their community, enhancing the local education standard and supporting families in arranging for their children's studies.
