Resunga Municipality’s Education Improvement Efforts
Resunga Municipality in Gulmi has been making continuous efforts to improve school education. The municipality has prioritized raising the quality of both community and institutional schools. Here are the Schools and Learning Centers in the Municipality:

To enhance school education, the municipality has been conducting various training programs for school management committees, principals, and subject teachers.
Local Curriculum and Textbooks

Textbooks based on the local curriculum for grades 1 to 5 are being prepared for printing in the fiscal year 2082/083.

Manuscripts for grades 6 to 8 are ready and currently under editing.

Once completed, students will be able to gain knowledge and skills related to local art, culture, occupations, tourism, and important heritage, according to Mayor Khildhwoj Panthi.
Big School Concept and Infrastructure Development
In the fiscal year 2081/082:

Resunga Secondary School and Siddhababa Secondary School each received a budget of around NPR 15 million under the “Big School” concept.

This budget has been used to upgrade school infrastructure.

An additional NPR 10 million from urban development has been allocated for the construction of Siddhababa Secondary School, and the building work has reached its final stage.
Model School and Science Promotion Programs

Under the “Model Secondary School” program, Mahendra Secondary School received NPR 4.5 million for infrastructure and educational improvements.

Under the “Science Promotion” program, Siddhababa Secondary School received NPR 4.5 million to establish laboratories, purchase science equipment, appoint lab staff, and conduct capacity development activities.

An additional NPR 10 million has been provided by urban development for the construction of this school building.
Renovation and Campus Support

Construction of a two-room building at Saunethum Basic School.

Repair and maintenance of buildings at Prithvi Primary School and Sano Aap Primary School.

NPR 5 million was provided to Resunga Multiple Campus for salaries and allowances.

NPR 1.2 million was allocated for free admission of first-year students at the undergraduate level to encourage enrollment.
According to the campus administration, financial assistance from the municipality has increased student enrollment and gradually improved the financial stability of Resunga Multiple Campus.
Dalit Entrepreneurship Program

Under the “Dalit Entrepreneurship” program, 30 individuals from Dalit communities were provided a three-month basic computer training course.

This initiative is expected to support employment opportunities and promote an inclusive society through the use of modern technology.
Awards and Recognition for Students

Last year, students from the municipality who secured first, second, and third positions at the district level in Grade 12 exams were honored with cash prizes.

Sashil Pokharel of Resunga-14, Paralmi, who secured the top position in Chemistry in the postgraduate examinations conducted by Tribhuvan University and received a gold medal, was also honored with a cash award.

In the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) 2080, 83 percent of students passed, and those who secured first, second, and third positions at the district level were also honored with cash prizes.
Mayor Panthi stated that such recognition has encouraged students for greater success in their educational journey. He further added that the municipality is continuously working to ensure access to education for all children.
