Social Security Allowance Distributed as Scholarship at Sunkoshi Campus

Sunkoshi Multiple Campus, Sindhupalchowk, Management Committee Chairman Sukhdev Timalsina has been distributing the social security allowance (old age allowance) he receives from the state as scholarships to poor, diligent, and disadvantaged students enrolled in the bachelor’s level.

Timalsina, a 78-year-old senior citizen from Pangretar, Sunkoshi Rural Municipality–7, has been receiving an old age allowance since 2071 B.S.

According to Campus Chief Krishna Prasad Acharya, this year too, Timalsina awarded scholarships of Rs. 2,500 each to economically weak and diligent students.

In addition, he personally invested Rs. 7.75 million to construct a building with a capacity of 50 students at the campus. Under his leadership, the District Coordination Committee provided Rs. 40 million for building construction, while the University Grants Commission provided Rs. 10 million twice, totaling Rs. 20 million, as a grant for the same purpose.
