The four-year B.Ed. at Sunkoshi Multiple Campus follows Tribhuvan University’s annual system. Students study two school subjects—one as a major and one as a minor—so they can teach both at the secondary level.

The program includes communication skills, professional core courses, major and minor specialization blocks, and a school-based practicum.

  • Groups: A) Communication Skills, B) Professional Core, C) Specialization Major, D) Specialization Minor, E) Teaching Internship/Practicum

  • Practicum: 100 marks in the final phase

  • Communication Skills: General Nepali and General English

  • Professional Core: Philosophical & Sociological Foundations, Educational Psychology, Curriculum & Evaluation, plus one ICT-related elective (Instructional Technology / ICT in Education / ICT in Specialized Subject)

Specializations

  • Major: choose one (10 courses, 1,000 marks) from Nepali, English, Mathematics, Science, Health & Physical Education, Population, Geography, Economics, History, Political Science.

  • Minor: choose a different field (5 courses, 500 marks). Science (Physical Science) majors take Biology as the minor.

Eligibility

  • General entry: Grade 12/HSE or PCL (equivalent)

  • Subject-wise requirements (examples):

    • English Education: Grade 12/PCL with English/Linguistics or 50% in General English; otherwise pass the department entrance (50%).

    • Mathematics Education: Grade 12/PCL with Mathematics (≥200 marks).

    • Science Education: Grade 12/PCL with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (≥100 marks each).

    • Health & Physical Education: Grade 12/PCL with HPE; other backgrounds allowed with a physical fitness test.

    • Population Education: several allied Grade 12/PCL backgrounds accepted (e.g., Geography, Economics, Health, Science, Mathematics).

Year-wise snapshot (illustrative)

  • Year 1: General Nepali, General English, Foundations of Education; begin major/minor foundations such as Foundations of Language & Linguistics (English), Calculus I (Mathematics), Chemistry I / Physics I (Science), etc.

  • Years 2–3: Professional cores, advanced major/minor courses, and an ICT elective.

  • Year 4: Completion of major/minor blocks and the school practicum (Teaching Internship/Practicum).

Assessment and Graduation

Annual examinations under TU; completion of all Group A–E requirements, including the practicum, is required for the B.Ed. award.
