Indrawati Campus Sindhupalchok (इन्द्रावती क्याम्पस, मेल्म्ची, सिन्धुपाल्चोक) is a community campus located in Melamchi Municipality-11, Melamchi, Sindhupalchok, Nepal. Established in 2007 AD (2064 BS), the campus was formed to expand access to higher education in an area with geographical, economic, and social significance within Sindhupalchok. It is affiliated with Tribhuvan University and runs four-year bachelor’s degree programs in education and management.
The campus emerged from a local initiative led by intellectuals, social workers, and political representatives who organized to create a higher education institution for students in and around Melamchi. After completing the required institutional preparations, the campus received community campus affiliation under TU policies and regulations. The foundation of Indrawati Campus was shaped by a community effort to create local access to bachelor-level education in Melamchi and nearby areas. In Bhadra 2063 BS, a 35-member infrastructure preparation committee was formed by local stakeholders. In Kartik 2063 BS, the statute draft was prepared and a 15-member ad hoc committee was established to move the affiliation process forward.
Following the procedures set by Tribhuvan University, the campus received affiliation as a community campus. Since then, it has continued its academic operation despite institutional and practical challenges, maintaining its role as a local higher education center for students of Sindhupalchok.
Indrawati Campus offers two four-year full-time bachelor’s degree programs under the annual system of Tribhuvan University. Both programs follow TU rules, guidelines, curriculum structure, examination procedures, and the applicable academic calendar.
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.): Four-year annual system under the Faculty of Education
Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS): Four-year annual system under the Faculty of Management
The B.Ed. program follows the TU Faculty of Education annual structure with communication skills, professional core courses, specialization major and minor areas, and teaching internship or practicum. The campus has listed subject areas such as Nepali, English, Mathematics, and Population Studies within the B.Ed. stream.
The BBS program follows the TU Faculty of Management annual structure. It includes foundation and core business courses, concentration-area study in the final year, business research methods, and final project work. Final examinations for annual-system bachelor’s programs are conducted by Tribhuvan University through the Office of the Controller of Examinations.
Admission to bachelor-level programs at the campus follows the general admission framework of Tribhuvan University and the concerned faculty.
