Sports Budget for Fiscal Year 2083/84
Rs. 4.03 billion has been allocated for the sports sector in the budget for Fiscal Year 2083/84. The budget includes football stadium upgrades, cricket stadium construction, indoor multipurpose stadiums, selection of students with interest and ability in sports from the basic level of school for residential training, lifelong free health treatment for international medal-winning athletes, and infrastructure for the 10th and 11th National Games.

46. Sports
(a) By connecting sports infrastructure with youth development and the local economy, we will upgrade 10 football stadiums with a capacity of at least 8,000 spectators, including floodlights, within the next three years. Modern cricket stadiums will be constructed in eight major cities within five years.
(b) Indoor multipurpose stadiums with a capacity of at least 2,000 will be constructed within the next three years in Biratnagar, Lahan, Kathmandu, Pokhara, Butwal, Surkhet, and Fapla of Dhangadhi.
(c) The design of the Mulpani Cricket Stadium and Academy, Girija Prasad Koirala Cricket Stadium, and Fapla Cricket Stadium in Kailali will be reviewed, and an investment modality will be determined.
(d) Arrangements will be made to select students with special interest and ability in sports from the basic level of school and provide them training with residential facilities.
(e) Arrangements will be made for lifelong free health treatment for athletes who win international medals, enabling them to live a dignified life after retirement.
(f) I have allocated funds to complete the 10th National Games in Surkhet and to construct the necessary infrastructure for the proposed 11th National Games in Madhesh Province.

Sports Arrangements Directly Linked with Education and Students
Students with special interest and ability in sports will be selected from the basic level of school.
Selected students will be provided training with residential facilities.
