Training Lower Level Teachers for Alphabet Improvement in Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan Municipality, Dang

Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan Municipality in Dang has taken a proactive step towards enhancing the quality of education by initiating a training program for basic level teachers. The program focuses on alphabet improvement, known as "Akshar Sudhar," and is part of the Chief Minister's Educational Reform Program. Spearheaded by the Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan Youth and Sports Division, this initiative aims to address the challenges observed in students' handwriting and foster overall improvement in the education system.

Addressing Handwriting Challenges

Recognizing the significance of strong foundational skills, Mayor Tikaram Khadka emphasizes the need to enhance students' alphabet writing from the lower grades. Understanding that meaningful progress can only be achieved through dedicated efforts, the municipality has launched the alphabet improvement program. Mayor Khadka acknowledges the prevalence of issues in Nepali and English alphabet writing among students and has therefore prioritized enhancing the teachers' alphabet proficiency. Furthermore, he has urged educators to exhibit tangible improvements in the current academic session.

Preserving the Writing Legacy

Man Bahadur Rawat, the coordinator of the Social Development Committee, emphasizes the importance of preserving the legacy of writing as a societal standard in Nepal. He highlights the adverse impact of technological advancements, which have led to a decline in writing tasks and subsequently caused difficulties in correcting letters. Rawat encourages teachers to uphold the traditions of writing, ensuring that the art of penmanship remains an integral part of Nepali society.

Enhancing Spelling Skills

Chakra Bahadur Bhandari, the head of the education branch, has taken a proactive approach to address spelling-related challenges. He prioritizes the training of lower-level teachers to improve their spelling skills, recognizing that writing proficiency should extend beyond educators themselves and positively impact students' learning experiences. Notably, 83 teachers from community schools have actively participated in the training program, showcasing their commitment to personal and professional development.

By implementing these initiatives, Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan Municipality is fostering a conducive learning environment and promoting the overall growth of students. The training programs for teachers not only address handwriting and spelling challenges but also encourage the preservation of writing traditions, ensuring that valuable skills are passed on to future generations. Through such endeavors, the municipality is taking significant strides toward educational reform and uplifting the quality of education in the region.
