Tribhuvan University Opens Online Applications for 52nd Convocation

Tribhuvan University, Office of the Controller of Examinations, Balkhu, has published a notice inviting students who wish to participate in the 52nd Convocation Ceremony (2083) to submit an online application form. According to the notice published on 2083/06/01, eligible students can apply from Ashoj 01, 2083 to Kartik 12, 2083.

Eligibility to Participate

Students who passed Bachelor’s, Master’s, or M.Phil. level examinations under the semester or annual examination system and obtained their transcripts between Ashadh 1, 2082 and Jestha 31, 2083 (corresponding to 15th June 2025 to 14th June 2026), as well as students who completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree within the same period, will be eligible to participate in the convocation ceremony.

Convocation Ceremony Centers

As per the decision of the Tribhuvan University Executive Council, the convocation ceremony will be held at the following centers. Applicants must select any one center where they wish to participate through the Online Application Portal:

  • Bagmati Province Center, including for M.Phil., Ph.D., toppers, and medal recipients

  • Koshi Province Center

  • Madhesh Province Center

  • Gandaki Province Center

  • Lumbini Province Center

  • Karnali Province Center

  • Sudurpashchim Province Center

Note: As applicants are allowed to select the center themselves, they are advised to choose a center only after confirming that they will be able to attend there. Once a center has been selected, the convocation ceremony center cannot be changed.

Application Process and Required Documents

  • The application form can be completed online through the Tribhuvan University Office of the Controller of Examinations website at student.exam.tu.edu.np by selecting the Online Form.

  • While completing the form, applicants must upload a white-background MRP-size photograph, a copy of their citizenship certificate, and a scanned copy of the transcript for the completed level.

  • All documents generated after submitting the online application must be printed as a PDF and kept safely. When applicants later visit to collect the gown, scarf, and related items, the documents must be submitted to the branch designated by the Office of the Controller of Examinations, stamped by the office, and kept safely.

Fee Details

The convocation and certificate fees, along with the gown/scarf security deposit, are as follows:

  • Bachelor’s Level: Convocation and certificate fee: Rs. 3,000; gown/scarf security deposit: Rs. 2,500

  • Master’s and M.Phil. Level: Convocation and certificate fee: Rs. 3,500; gown/scarf security deposit: Rs. 2,500

  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Level: Convocation and certificate fee: Rs. 4,000; gown/scarf security deposit: Rs. 2,500

Rules on Fee Payment and Refund of Security Deposit

  • The gown security deposit will be refunded to the same account from which the applicant made the payment. Applicants are therefore requested to make the payment themselves from their own account number. The Office of the Controller of Examinations will not be responsible if the refund cannot be processed due to issues related to the bank account number.

  • The stated fees can be deposited only through Online Banking via Nepal Bank Ltd. or Global IME Bank Ltd. Applicants must safely retain the payment receipt and Transaction ID.

Additional Information and Other Rules

  • Up to two guardians may accompany a student to the convocation ceremony. A non-refundable fee of Rs. 400 per guardian will apply.

  • A certificate folder bearing the Tribhuvan University logo will be available only to interested students participating in the convocation ceremony. Students wishing to receive the folder must pay an additional fee of Rs. 500.

  • A maintenance charge of Rs. 500 for the gown, scarf, and related items will be deducted from the security deposit.

  • Applicants must bring the Receipt Slip/Return Slip when collecting or returning the gown. The Folder Receipt Slip must be brought when collecting the folder.

Detailed information regarding the convocation ceremony can be viewed at exam.tu.edu.np. The office has stated that the detailed program and venue will be published later.
