Kathmandu, December 18, 2023 – The prestigious 49th convocation ceremony of Tribhuvan University marked a significant milestone with the participation of 12,415 graduates. The ceremony, held at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar, witnessed a substantial turnout from the 74,749 students eligible for graduation.

In a grand event graced by President Ramchandra Paudel, Prime Minister and Chancellor Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' led the initiation of the graduates. This year's convocation ceremony saw a diverse group of students, with 8,098 undergraduates, 4,104 postgraduates, 44 MPhil, and 112 doctoral graduates taking part in the event.

Acting Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, Prof. Dr. Shivlal Bhusal, announced that the ceremony was open to students who completed their studies between June 1, 2079, and the end of June 2080. This inclusivity marks a significant increase from last year's convocation, which saw 10,300 students participating.

The convocation also highlighted the university's commitment to integrating entrepreneurship with education. This approach aims to address the challenge of ensuring sustainable employment for graduates within the country. The event not only celebrated the academic achievements of the students but also underscored the university's dedication to equipping them with the skills necessary to thrive in the modern workforce.
