Tribhuvan University Central Library Launched a Free Online Library for Students

Tribhuvan University has started providing online facilities to students to study foreign books at home. The Central Library under Tribhuvan University has launched a free online library facility for students. The library has made arrangements to read books, documents, journals, etc. online through a remote access system. For which ProQuest database software with remote access service is connected.

Students from other campuses affiliated with TU's affiliated campuses and libraries will also be able to read books for free from the library's ProQuest database software.

Contains books, journals, articles, essays, etc. published by world-renowned foreign scholars. To read these materials for free, students need to click on the form available on the library's website. Email ID will be provided to the student on the basis of filling the same form.

The remote access system now has the email IDs of more than 30,000 students. According to the library, the database contains more than 450,000 e-books, more than 5 million e-thesis dissertations as well as thousands of journals, magazines, and articles.

So far, Nepal Open University, Far Western University, Hetauda College of Social Sciences, Sagarmatha Engineering College, Baneshwor Multiple Campus have been incorporated into the online library of Tribhuvan University. The library has recently signed agreements with the Asian Development Bank and the National Digital Library of India for additional materials.

Accordingly, 300,000 books with the Asian Development Bank and 45 million books, journals, thesis, audio, and video materials with the digital library will be available free of cost. At present, TU Central Library has four lakh ten thousand books.

TU Central Library is moving ahead with its plan to create a database as its own e-library. Postgraduate, MPhil and Ph.D. research papers will also be available online. Accordingly, 2,000 research papers have been digitized so far.
