Kathmandu, Magh 11 — Tribhuvan University (TU) has formed a task force to review its fees.
Akhil Krantikari had locked the offices of the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, and Rector from Poush 18, demanding a reduction in fees for four departments of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Departments Where Fee Reduction Has Been Demanded
Under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Akhil Krantikari has demanded fee reductions in:

International Relations and Diplomacy
-
Gender Studies
-
Social Work
-
Conflict, Peace and Development Studies
TU has formed the task force in response to these demands.
TU’s Directive on Unlocking the Offices
In its directive, TU stated that since the university has formed a fee review task force and the task force has already begun its work, the concerned party is requested to unlock the offices by 8:00 AM on 2082/10/12.
The directive states that if the lock is not removed, the lock will be opened with the support of the police administration in accordance with the interim order issued on 2082 Ashar 18, noting that compliance with the court’s order is the responsibility and duty of all.
Disruption to University Operations
TU stated that due to the lockout, the daily administrative work and proceedings of the university’s central office have been obstructed.
The directive further stated that such actions directly contradict the interim order issued by the Supreme Court on 2082 Ashar 18 and amount to contempt of the court’s order.
