Vishwa Niketan Secondary School Launches Smart Classroom and Scientific Research Workshop

A “Smart Classroom” and a workshop to develop students’ scientific research skills have been launched at Vishwa Niketan Secondary School in Tripureshwor. The program was initiated through a collaboration between the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Huawei Nepal, and the school.

The program aims to expand the use of digital technology in education and provide quality education to all students. Launched with Vishwa Niketan Secondary School as its base, the initiative is expected to serve as a model project for expanding the concept of digital education in Nepal.

Key Features of the Program

• Schools outside the Kathmandu Valley will be digitally connected with Vishwa Niketan Secondary School.

• Students and teachers will be able to attend scientific research classes, participate in interactive learning, and exchange knowledge in real time.

• Through Huawei’s Smart Classroom, students in remote areas will have opportunities to access quality science education, digital learning materials, and collaborative activities.

• Teachers from different schools will be able to exchange teaching experiences, share effective practices, and jointly conduct classes.

Huawei Nepal stated that its “Smart Education” concept aims to reduce the educational gap between urban and rural areas, empower teachers through digital technology, and develop a data-driven learning system.

Speaking at the program, ADB Senior Education Specialist Jeffrey Jian Su said that ADB is committed to building an inclusive, resilient, and future-oriented education system for all students through innovation, collaboration, and the use of digital technology.

Similarly, Huawei Nepal Chief Executive Officer Chester Chen said that students’ futures should be determined by the opportunities they receive rather than where they live. He stated that the initiative seeks to connect classrooms across Nepal through technology and create an environment for collaboration and knowledge exchange between students and teachers, including in the field of technology-supported scientific research.
