Notice Regarding “Army Welfare Scholarship (Domestic)” - Among the various programs conducted under the Military Welfare Fund, this notice has been published to inform all concerned about the Military Welfare Scholarship (Domestic) for the academic session 2081.
Scholarship Details

Scholarship Amount: NPR 25,000 per student annually (one-time payment).
-
Eligible Students: Sons and daughters of serving and retired personnel of the Nepali Army.
-
Eligible Classes: Students who have passed from Grade 4 to Grade 12.
-
Age Limit: Must not exceed 21 years.
Eligible Students for the Scholarship
-
Must be the son or daughter of serving or retired Nepali Army personnel.
-
Only one child of an entitled member (son or daughter) can receive the scholarship.
-
Only children who passed from Grade 4 to Grade 12 in academic session 2081 can receive this facility.
Students must have secured:
-
At least 40% (GPA 1.6) if studying in community/government schools.
-
At least 50% (GPA 2.0) if studying in institutional/private schools.
-
If the marksheet shows only grades (e.g., A+, D), the percentage or GPA must be clearly mentioned.
-
Must be studying in a school or college recognized by the Government of Nepal.
-
If studying in an institution run by a foreign country inside Nepal, it must have Government recognition and the recognition document must be submitted.

In the case of serving soldiers, only children properly registered in Nepali Army HR Digitization are eligible.
Special provisions:
-
Children of serving or retired personnel who were injured during past conflict and certified as needing support (by the Directorate of Ceremony Operations).

Children of soldiers who died while performing duty:
-
During fire control duty in Ramechhap district,
-
During a landslide in Ramche, Rasuwa district.
If one child of such families is studying in a Military Welfare Fund-run or Empanelled school at the expense of the Fund, then:

One additional child may apply, or
-
If no child is studying in such schools, then two children may apply.
In the case of twins:
-
If one child has passed the entrance exam for Army educational institutions and is studying under full fee, while the other child has not received a scholarship seat, the full-fee studying child becomes eligible.
Legally adopted children:
-
As per existing Nepal laws, one child legally adopted as son or daughter by serving or retired personnel is eligible.
Ineligible Students
Students studying in schools/colleges run at the expense of the Military Welfare Fund during academic session 2081 (including Nepal Army Institute of Health Sciences colleges).

However, students studying under full-fee quota or non-military quota in such institutions must compulsorily submit a recommendation letter confirming they are not studying under subsidy.
Students receiving the “Chief of Army Staff Scholarship.”

Families of soldiers who died in duty are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
-
Children of entitled personnel already studying in empanelled institutions under the Welfare Fund agreement.
-
Individuals who were dismissed during service and did not receive family welfare benefits are not eligible.

Students studying in foreign schools outside Nepal.
-
If a child has already received the scholarship for Grade 12 in the past academic session, another child of the same couple cannot apply (only one child per couple is eligible for Grade 12).

For Serving Personnel

Copy of character certificate or school recommendation letter.

Copy of annual marksheet of academic session 2081.

Copy of birth certificate or citizenship certificate.

Copy of Army ID card (if not issued, recommendation letter from unit confirming no ID issued).

Copy of marriage registration certificate.
For Retired Personnel

Copy of character certificate or school recommendation letter.
-
Copy of annual marksheet of academic session 2081.
-
Copy of birth certificate or citizenship certificate.
-
Copy of pension book (page showing name of pension holder and nominee).
-
Copy of marriage registration certificate.
-
Relationship verification certificate from local government (including details of all children).
Notes
-
While submitting the above documents, details such as student’s name, date of birth, and obtained marks must be clearly mentioned.

Special supporting documents must also be submitted where applicable:
-
Certification of injury during past conflict (from Directorate of Ceremony Operations).
-
Proof documents for deceased soldiers (fire control duty in Ramechhap, landslide in Ramche, Rasuwa).
-
For legally adopted children: Recommendation letter from ward office mentioning the adopter’s name, adopted child’s name, and adoption year (year only acceptable).

For earthquake victims of 14 severely affected districts (2072): Recommendation letter from ward/municipality, Earthquake Victim ID card, and proof of complete loss.

For twins in Army educational institutions: College recommendation letter confirming one child is studying under full fee and the other has not received subsidized study.

Application Place and Dates
-
Serving Soldiers: Submit by 2082/05/02 to the respective Unit/Formation.

Retired Soldiers: Submit from 2082/05/02 to 2082/05/31 at the nearest Unit/Formation of the Nepali Army.
