Nepal Police and Global IME Bank sign MoU to Establish Scholarship Fund

Nepal Police and Global IME Bank Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate in the establishment, operation, and management of the 'Nepal Police-Global IME Bank Scholarship Akshaya Fund'. The MoU was signed at a program held at the Nepal Police Headquarters, where Kedar Dhakal, Senior Superintendent of Police, Head of Nepal Police Headquarters, Welfare Division, signed on behalf of Nepal Police, and Dilip Pokharel, Chief Marketing Officer of the Bank, signed on behalf of Global IME Bank.

The scholarship fund aims to support the children of low-ranking police personnel by providing scholarships to deserving students who have obtained the best marks. The fund will cover annual fees, examination fees, stationery, and housing and food expenses for students studying in Nepal Police Schools, with car rental available for those without residential facilities. The fund will be applicable to students studying from Class 4 to 12 in Nepal Police Schools and will be available from the next academic session in 2080 Baisakh.

As per the agreement, the Nepal Police Headquarters, Welfare Division will provide at least two Jehendar student scholarships to the children of police personnel from serving, retired, immortal/martyred, and disabled police office assistants to the rank of police senior constable. On the other hand, Global IME Bank will establish a 'Nepal Police-Global IME Bank Scholarship Revolving Fund' with a minimum of 2.5 million rupees in the name of the Police Welfare Fund, and the operation and management of the account will be done by the Police Welfare Fund.

The Inspector General of Police, Dhiraj Pratap Singh, thanked the bank for their support in providing scholarships to the children of low-ranking police personnel, expressing his belief that this agreement would boost the morale of the police force. The Chief Executive Officer of the bank, Ratnaraj Bajracharya, praised the contribution of the Nepal Police in providing services to the community and expressed his satisfaction in being able to support the descendants of the police personnel.

The program was attended by the Additional Inspector General of Police, representatives of Global IME Bank Limited, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, and senior police officers. The scholarship fund is a commendable initiative that will benefit the deserving children of the police force and support their education.
