University Grants Commission, Sanothimi, Bhaktapur Notice for Call for Proposals 2081

The University Grants Commission (UGC) Nepal is announcing the operation of various programs for the fiscal year 2081/2082 aimed at enhancing, expanding, and improving the overall quality of higher education. These programs focus on the administrative and physical facility development of higher educational institutions, research infrastructure and cultural development, quality assurance and accreditation programs, and other quality improvement initiatives for teachers, staff, and students of higher education institutions. Programs include scholarships, research support, capacity-building programs, training, and more.

Stakeholders are invited to submit separate applications and proposals in the prescribed format as outlined in the UGC Program Guidelines, 2081, for the listed programs within the specified deadline. For more detailed information, the Program Guidelines, 2081, are available on the UGC website at www.ugcnepal.edu.np. Printed copies of the guidelines can also be obtained from the UGC office. Applications/proposals submitted after the deadline or those that do not meet the required criteria will not be processed. Additionally, any false information provided will result in the rejection of the application, and the applicant will be barred from receiving future grants from the commission.

1. Institutional Development Grants – For Community Campuses Receiving Support

a. Regular Grants:

  • Community campuses receiving regular grants must register their applications online via ugc.nitc.gov.np:81. After filling out the Online Data, they will receive a Username and Password, which will be used to access the required forms for the grant. The grant amount will be deposited into the community campus’s designated National Commercial Bank account and branch as specified by the head of the campus.
  • For regular grants, the minimum number of students required:
    • 50 students for Himalayan districts
    • 75 students for Hilly districts
    • 100 students for Tarai districts
    • 125 students for Kathmandu Valley campuses
    • 150 students for campuses offering technical programs.

b. Physical Facility Development Grants:

  • This grant covers:

    • Building construction
    • Book purchases
    • Furniture purchases
    • Equipment purchases
    • Additional facility construction for ongoing programs.

    The minimum number of students required for this grant:

    • 60 students for Himalayan districts
    • 75 students for Hilly districts
    • 100 students for Tarai districts
    • 125 students for Kathmandu Valley campuses
    • 150 students for campuses offering technical programs.

    Applications must be submitted within the designated period.

  • Campuses located in primary urban areas can submit up to 2 proposals.

  • For additional grants, proposals must be submitted by campuses completing the institutional development application process.

c. Special Grants:

  • Community campuses that have received regular grants and have completed the formal publication of their audit for the last two fiscal years are eligible for special grants. The minimum number of students required:
    • 60 students for Himalayan districts
    • 75 students for Hilly districts
    • 100 students for Tarai districts
    • 125 students for Kathmandu Valley campuses.

Application Submission Deadlines for Different Provinces:

  • Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces: 2081/08/25 (office hours)
  • Koshi, Madhesh, and Lumbini Provinces: 2081/08/28 (office hours)
  • Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces: 2081/08/30 (office hours)
