Vacancy Announcement at Habitat for Humanity Nepal

Habitat for Humanity International Nepal's vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Habitat for Humanity operates as part of an international network with a common objective of reducing poverty and eliminating substandard housing and homelessness from the world.

Habitat for Humanity International Nepal holds the subcontractor status of DAI to recruit and mobilize human resources in two field offices and eight partner municipalities for Tayar Nepal Project. The positions will be hired by and contracted under Habitat for Humanity International Nepal and work full-time with Tayar Nepal Team.

Tayar Nepal - Improved Disaster Risk Management Project is a USAID Nepal funded project, implemented by DAI. Tayar Nepal will strengthen the capacity of Nepal's national and municipal institutions responsible for disaster preparedness and response. Tayar Nepal will build the capacity of newly created National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Authority (NDRRMA) at the national level. Locally, Tayar Nepal will support eight urban municipalities to develop risk-sensitive land use plans and implementation of technical assistance packages to improve disaster preparedness and resilience of the communities. In the event of a disaster over the five-year life of Tayar Nepal, USAID/Nepal will engage the project's rapid emergency response mechanism.

Tayar Nepal works closely with the Government of Nepal and municipalities with the support of its sub-contractors and resource partners to implement its activities. Tayar Nepal will establish municipal level Disaster Risk Management Assistance Centers (DRMACs) in eight partner municipalities to implement municipal level activities. These DRMACs will be coordinated and operated from the regional field offices located in Kathmandu and Nepalgunj. Field operation teams will be mobilized through Tayar Nepal's sub-contractor Habitat for Humanity International Nepal in two field offices and eight partner municipalities. Field operational teams will include two Field Team Directors supervising eight teams of municipal level staff in their respective regions.

Field Team Director (1 position for Nepalgunj and 1 position for Kathmandu):

Responsible for working closely with the municipality level authorities on 'Improved Disaster Risk Management Project' of Tayar Nepal, including but not limited to coordination and supervision of municipal level activities, supervision and mobilization of Field Officers (Municipal Mobilizers) and Field Engineers (Engineers) and lead to form municipal level committees.
